RECENT HIKE IN FUEL PRICE BY THE BUHARI LED ADMINISTRATION IS INHUMANE AND CALLOUS

Comrade Martins Akpore called the recent increase in the price of petrol “inhumane” and “callous” considering the recent ordeal of economic hardship, Nigerians are expressing since the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic.

It is expected that a reasonable government who has the feelings and thoughts of the citizenry should not neglect the plights of the people at this time, as 90% of economic activities is directly and indirectly tied to the use of fuel which President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration should have considered deeply.

“If the government does not alter the course on this ill-advised trajectory then it will have the ruinous consequence of pushing many middle-income households to the margins of poverty and pushing the poor to total economic ruin,” he said.

It is therefore, expected that the government should immediately reverse and reduce the pump price so as to lessen the untold hardship Nigerians are already experiencing.
